The Agrometeorology, Bio-structures and Environment Engineering Division (ABSEED), is one of the four (4) academic divisions of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering (IABE) at the College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT), University of the Philippines Los Baños. It seeks to develop appropriate technologies and translate the sky-high weather problems into manageable ground-level solutions which farmers can implement in a changing global climate. Specifically, the division aims to a) harness crop yield potential from favorable weather as well as weather extremes; b) improve crop and animal production by developing controlled environment technologies, and c) minimize the environmental impacts of agricultural wastes. ABSEED-IABE also operates and maintains the National Agromet Station in collaboration with PCAARRD and PAGASA-DOST.
