The College of Arts and Sciences is a degree granting unit and provide service courses to students from other colleges. It offers 12 academic degree programs. The college is composed of five institutes namely: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences and Physics, and Statistics; and three departments such as: Human Kinetics, Humanities, and Social Sciences. It also includes the UP Rural High School, which serves as high school laboratory for the BS Mathematics and Science Teaching Program. The College also offers graduate programs at the master and doctorate levels. It also supports the research and extension mandates of the university.
