About

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) at UPLB stands as a beacon of academic support and excellence, primarily designed to enhance the educational experience of both local and international students at undergraduate and graduate levels. Central to its value proposition is the comprehensive range of programs and services it offers. These include customized academic support systems, the Instructional Assistance and Enrichment Program with its Bridge Program, trainings, tutorials, and the UPLB Recruitment Program for the Best and the Brightest. Additionally, the LRC plays a crucial role in supporting international and exchange students through customized language programs and assistance in thesis and journal writing. In collaboration with the Office for Institutional Linkages, the LRC facilitates exchange programs, providing students with opportunities to engage with globally recognized academic institutions. The inception of the LRC dates back to June 1978, in conjunction with the Agricultural and Rural Development Scholarship (ARDS). Initially a part of the UP System, it was formally institutionalized by the Board of Regents on April 17, 1997. Over the years, the LRC has undergone significant transformations to better fulfill its mission. In 2007, it was integrated into the Office of Student Affairs as the Learning Resource Program (LRP), and in 2014, it reverted to its original LRC designation, aligning with UPLB’s goal of becoming a world-class university and enhancing its commitment to academic excellence. Now housed within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the LRC continues to adapt and expand its services, steadfast in its mission to nurture and develop globally competitive graduates.
